Individual Psychotherapy for Adults

Vine & Oak Psychotherapy provides individual psychotherapy exclusively for adults age 18 and older. The practice does not provide therapy for children, adolescents, couples, or families.

Individual psychotherapy offers a private and consistent space to better understand your emotions, relationships, patterns, and life experiences. Treatment is tailored to each person rather than organized around a one-size-fits-all program or predetermined timeline.

What brings people to therapy?

Common Concerns

Adults may seek therapy for concerns including anxiety, depression, and emotional distress; relationship difficulties and recurring interpersonal patterns; grief, loss, and major life transitions; burnout, professional stress, and difficulties with work.

Also common: self-esteem, shame, and persistent self-criticism; trauma and the continuing impact of earlier experiences; questions related to identity, purpose, and personal development; and difficulties with intimacy, trust, attachment, or emotional expression.

What is the therapeutic approach?

A Psychodynamic, Attachment-Informed Approach

The therapeutic approach is primarily psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, and attachment-informed. This means that therapy may explore not only current symptoms, but also the deeper emotional and relational patterns contributing to them.

Attention is given to how past experiences, unconscious processes, protective strategies, and important relationships may shape your present life.

Do I need to already know what to talk about?

Two Ways to Begin

Some individuals enter therapy with a clearly defined concern. Others may know that something feels unsatisfying, repetitive, or difficult without yet having the words to explain it.

Both are appropriate reasons to begin.

Who is this practice for?

Who This Practice Serves

Vine & Oak Psychotherapy is best suited for adults interested in thoughtful, collaborative, and depth-oriented therapy.

Because the practice specializes in individual adult psychotherapy, referrals can be provided when couples therapy, family therapy, child or adolescent treatment, psychological testing, medication management, or a higher level of care is needed.

Both are appropriate reasons to begin.
